Playing catch in the backyard is timeless and time well spent! Grab your kid, a glove, a ball, and some sunshine for a daily dose of exercise and a lifetime of memories! Here are some tips on throwing and catching. Be sure to keep that glove up when catching and elbow up when throwing. Start out 20-30 feet apart and with more throws, work your way back to as far as you would like. Your ultimate target when throwing is your partner’s chest area because that makes it easier for them to catch the ball. You don’t need a ballfield to play catch, it can be done almost anywhere; the yard, a cul-de-sac, even in the pool or at the beach. Now get outside and give it a go!
